AgraStrip® Macadamia

Macadamia trees are a native plant grown in Australia, of which the nuts used as an ingredient for many food products. The Macadamia nut has numerous names including Queensland nut, bush nut, queen of nuts and bauple nut.

Protein fractions within the Macadamia nut, when ingested, can trigger an allergic reaction in susceptible people ranging in severity from skin reactions to anaphylaxis. People who are allergic to Macadamia nuts must follow an exclusion diet and must take care when reading ingredient lists and allergen statements on product label. In turn food manufacturers must provide the community with relaible and accurate information on their product labels.

The AgraStrip® Macadamia kit provides food manufacturers and laboratories a reliable tool to provide the correct information on the allergen statements. AgraStrip® Macadamia is an immunological test in a lateral flow format with results available within 11 minutes after starting the test, enabling immediate corrective action when required.
